Kindergarten is learning all about writing friendly letters. We read the books, Dear Bear by Joanna Harrison and Dear Peter Rabbit by Alma Flor Ada. Kindergarten learned when writing a letter we have a heading, body and an ending. Each child wrote a letter or drew a picture for a friend in the class. Kindergarten also learned that when we are done writing our letters, we send them out in envelopes. The envelope must have the name and address of the person we are writing to, a return address and a stamp. We will be visiting our local post office and mailing out our letters. Keep a look out...the children are so excited to receive letters in the mail!
