Library Trip at Grand Army Plaza

In celebration of Literacy Month, Kindergarten visited the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza. Before our trip we read, Beverly Billingsly Borrows a Book. It spoke about rules of a library such as time limits when borrowing a book, fines if the book is returned late, using your library card, etc. Kindergarten also spoke about the proper way to act in a library for example, to not shout and when we take books off the shelves, do not place them back if not sure where they belong.
A librarian read to the children and spoke about how a library works. She also took us on a tour of various sections of a library. Morah pointed out the reference desk and even showed us how to ask the librarian for help. At the end, we each checked out our own books with our very own library cars! We had so much fun and loved taking home books!
