The Little Red Hen

Kindergarten has been learning to make predictions as well as notice patterns while reading books. In this lesson we read, The Little Red Hen. Soon into reading the book, the children recognized the patterns and read along with me. When we were done reading, kindergarten discussed the lessons they learned from this book. Some points they mentioned was being a team player. Together we compiled a list of ways, "I Can Help...". They came up with great ways to be good helpers.

We also discussed that this book has many different versions, which Morah brought in to show. This allowed them to see though the story was basically the same, there were different author and illustrators of each.
